Slow Mornings

March 14, 2020

As it is coming more towards the Spring season I am loving more and more waking up in the morning. I’m so lucky my window is facing the East side so I get to wake up to the sunbeam and birds chirping outside most of my mornings now.

I usually wake up around 7 a.m. on my own, not needing an alarm. My highschool probably did this to me. Waking up almost every weekday at 5:30 a.m. for four years left its scars on me, hehe.

When I am staying in the mountains on our cottage, just like now, whenever the sun is out I like to go outside to sit on the porch, enjoy some hot tea and read a good book. Especially in the morning. My dog is also a big fan of spending time sunbathing so he joins me every time. And it makes it even more special.

I like to avoid my phone and especially social media, just to keep my mind clear. I also love having this time to plan out all the things I have to do, and to journal aswell. I don’t really have a set full on morning routine, except when I go to school, so I just do as I go.

Making my bed is now a huge deal for me. Sounds funny doesn’t it? I’ve always heard it makes people way more productive and to be honest, it actually does! So I try to do that every morning. And then the usual stuff. Make breakfast, do my skincare etc. And walks! I love going on a walk with my dog in the morning. It really just wakes you up.
