My Backpacking Europe Trip

August 10, 2019

This past week I’ve taken a trip I wanted to take for a long time now. I always wanted to go traveling on my own at some point. I never knew when or where. I knew it would be in Europe because you can get to a lot of places of different cultures and languages in just a few hours. My trip was starting to come together just this year as I was finishing high school.

My locations were upon three cities in different countries. Luxembourg City, Brussels and Rotterdam. And why did I chose these? I was thinking about traveling to countries I’ve never been to before. Except the Netherlands. I’ve been to Amsterdam in 2016 and I loved it. And it was also quite close to the other locations. And on the other hand I was thinking about safety aswell. I must say I miscalculated on on of them, but more about that later.

When I told other people I was going on this trip alone, not one failed to ask „Why?“ or „Aren’t you scared?“

I wasn’t scared. And for that „why“ question, the answer is easy. I just wanted to.

Was it a good idea? Yes!

Would I do it again? Well, for now my answer is no, but I’m not sure it won’t change in the future.
